Inesite from the early to mid 1980s finds at the Kalahari Manganese fields (particularly one find of the early 1980s from which this came) are still considered among the best of species and the most beautiful in the world by many, except perhaps only a few major Chinese specimens from an early 2000s discovery. That is it. Aside from these two finds, everything else is secondary in color and quality. Here we have a fine specimen that is the best color from the Kalahari discoveries, from the best known pocket, with a vibrant hue and a saturated color to the sparkling crystals. Her numbering dates this to the 1980s and it went directly to Erika Pohl and has been there since. The piece is a beautiful full miniature knob, almost pristine on the display face. It only has a few very tiny little dings, but then again the piece is not oiled or labbed, and that would easily hide even those trivial little issues. So it is essentially pristine to the naked eye, in any case, on the display face. Specimens like this should be valued in the $2500-3500 range based on the market as we have seen it.
