Item Description
The Wessels Mine is one of the premier localities in the Kalahari Manganese Field. This famed mine is well-known for producing superb examples of many species such as Ettringite, Sturmanite, Kutnahorite, Hematite, Xonotlite, but it also has produced some of the finest Inesite specimens extant. This miniature size piece is a great example, filled with dozens of distinct, sharp, orange-red bladed crystals forming “rosette”-esque crystal aggregates, free of matrix. No major damage, outside of the periphery where the piece was removed from the pocket wall. The largest crystal measures about 6 mm long.
