Item Description
Good blue tourmaline is the rarest sort from Afghanistan pegmatites. This is a very beautiful and fine example of bi-colored indicolite from Afghanistan. The highly lustrous, well-striated crystal is mostly gorgeous, intense teal-blue gem above the opaque, super-dark purple/black base. The 3 mm zone below the termination is a bright lavender/pink, depending on the lighting and angle of view. The termination is lustrous, matte. The bit of attached pink lepidolite is a nice accent. Complete-all-around, the indicolite is nearly pristine, with only a very trivial bit of termination edge wear. The contact on the termination corner has no damage, per se. This is an most excellent example of the species and locale with a very thick gemmy indicolite zone. Valued at $2500. 117 grams. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock.
