A classic and intense blue indicolite tourmaline on quartz small cabinet from old 1990s finds at Pech. A 2.3 x 2.2 x 1.9 cm glassy, highly lustrous, well-striated trigonal indicolite is beautifully set atop the sculptural intergrown cluster of translucent quartz crystals. The tourmaline has a typical schorl body followed by the classic gemmy/translucent 6 mm section of rich indicolite blue, teal-blue and teal-green below the matte lustre pinacoidal termination. Small indicolites embedded on both the large tourmaline and the quartz matrix add much character to this outstanding 360-degree cutie. The indicolite is complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only trivial edge wear. The quartz is pristine. Combination indicolite and quartz specimens of this quality are rare and seldom on the market today and should be considered worth at least twice as much as the comparable and typical green color of the same style from here.
