Item Description
A gorgeous, gemmy and lustrous, indicolite-blue, tourmaline from the famous Santa Rosa Mine. The striking, fluted, parallel-growth indicolites have an unusual, etched/frosted, olive-green, termination. A bit of purple elbaite is noted on one side. The cavity lined with cleavelanditre blades with lavender lepidolites below are very nifty accents. The core is opaque dark purple elbaitie. Rotating the piece and looking at the gemmy indicolites is simply amazing, with the very high glassy luster and dense parallel-growth. Complete all-around. The angled side car cluster has a broken tip and there is a broken side car on the back below the termination. Old-time, highly desirable material from the 1960s or 70s finds from this renowned locale. A very fine and large Santa Rosa tourmaline with dramatic, three-sided visual appeal. 174 grams mass.
