Item Description

A dramatic and aesthetic specimen of two, large, crossed teal-blue elbaite crystals from the famous Santa Rosa Mine. The glassy, translucent, crystals are well-striated and have lightly frosted faces. The dominant crystal has a striking yellow-green zone below the etched, matte termination. The contact on the back of this termination has no damage, per se. The stunning, doubly terminated, cross crystal is 8.6 cm long and the terminations have two different colors: one is purple; and one is yellow-green. The backside of the yellow-green termination is contacted only slightly but has no damage and is out of sight anyhow. Otherwise, this strikingly scultpural piece is perfect. This is old-time, seldom available material from this noted locale, dating to the 1960s or 70s. Complete all-around and essentially pristine. Excellent quality material from Santa Rosa. Valued $2000
