Item Description

The world-famous Pederneira Mine in Brazil is certainly one of the top Tourmaline localities on Earth. It has been producing some of the most iconic Tourmaline specimens ever found. In recent years, the piece have been as big and impressive as anything that has ever been found at this illustrious locality. This beautiful small cabinet sized piece is a classic gemmy Indicolite tourmaline from circa 2010 finds. The highly lustrous, striated, steel-blue prismatic trigonal crystal is VERY GEMMY and is complete all around. The upper portion actually has a soft purplish overtone, which is a rare shade for Tourmaline. Remarkably, the piece is NOT REPAIRED, which is hard to find in crystals this size, as most of them have at least ONE repair, due to the nature of the way in which the pockets formed, and were ultimately collapsed. VERY DIFFICULT to photograph / video correctly with the gemminess, glassiness, high luster and striations. Better in person! Specimen weight is 30.2 grams. A fine, classic gem Pederneira Indicolite.
