Indicolite Tourmaline (''floater'' group)

There are many localities in the world for Tourmaline, but the prodigious Pederneira Mine has been producing some of the most iconic Tourmaline specimens ever found for decades. These Tourmalines are celebrated for the superior quality and size of crystals that are found in a rainbow of colors. This beautiful and aesthetic piece featuring a pair of gemmy Indicolite Tourmalines from circa 2010 finds. The highly lustrous, striated, steel-blue prismatic trigonal crystals are gemmy when backlit, and look great in any kind of lighting. A few small white Albite crystals make for a nice contrast of color. Additionally, the piece is complete all around, it's technically doubly-terminated as the main crystal features a basal termination on one end, and the other end is recrystallized ("re-healed"), so it's basically a complete "floater". I looked closely, and I can't see any major damage, just one small indentation on the main Tourmaline where another crystal once grew. Perhaps the most impressive aspect of the specimen is the fact that is NOT REPAIRED! So many pieces from this locality have to be glued back together due to the nature of the pockets being collapsed when they are found, so when you have an un-repaired specimen like this, especially with multiple crystals(!), it's a big deal. VERY DIFFICULT to photograph / video correctly with the gemminess, glassiness, high luster and striations. MUCH better in person! Specimen weight is 63.5 grams.
