Indicolite Tourmaline

Indicolite is a varietal name given to blue Tourmalines (both gems and crystals). It's not a reference to any species, and essentially any blue Tourmaline can be called Indicolite. Tourmaline is a notably colorful gem, found in virtually all shades, but blue is one of the most popular amongst collectors and dealers. This gem is a nice little stone with a beautiful "Indicolite" blue color and a standard "Emerald" cut. The stone is slightly included, and the color is very pleasing. Tourmalines are not often found in eye clean gems, in fact, they are classified as a "Type 3" stone which means that the large majority of gems are included and these inclusions are accepted by collectors and dealers, so a stone like this is about par for the course. A lovely Indicolite Tourmaline gem that would look great in a piece of jewelry, or alone in a gem box on display.
