Item Description

The world-famous Pederneira Mine has been producing some of the most iconic Tourmaline specimens in the world for decades. It is celebrated for the superior quality and size of crystals that are found in a rainbow of colors. This beautiful small cabinet sized piece is a classic gemmy Indicolite tourmaline from circa 2010 finds. The highly lustrous, striated, steel-blue prismatic trigonal crystal is VERY GEMMY (and even WATER CLEAR in areas) and is complete all around. If you look closely, the termination shows a slight green hue. A tiny bit of "Lepidolite" Mica can be seen coating the lower portion of the crystal on one side. The crystal is UN-repaired, which is not terribly common, even for single crystals from this locality in recent years. VERY DIFFICULT to photograph correctly with the gemminess, glassiness, high luster and striations. Better in person! Specimen weight is 4.31 grams. A fine, classic gem Pederneira Indicolite.
