Item Description
Tourmaline gems have been found in virtually every color you can think of. Some of the most sought after and valuable examples are the alluring blue Indicolites, which are simply a blue variety of Tourmaline, and not a specific species of Tourmaline. The name comes from the Latin word "indicum", meaning "indigo". For many years, nearly all of the good gem grade Indicolites came from Brazil, and were actually sold under the misleading term "Brazilian Sapphire". This is a fantastic Indicolite stone with a gorgeous blue color and a "Wide Trillion" cut. The stone has some slight inclusions, which is perfectly acceptable for Tourmaline because the stones are classified as a "Type 3" stone which means that the large majority of gems are included and these inclusions are accepted by collectors and dealers, so eye clean stones are fairly rare. A wonderful Indicolite Tourmaline gem that would look great in a piece of jewelry, or alone in a gem box on display.
