Item Description

Deep blue, dark crystals of indicolite tourmaline form a hedgehog-like cluster at one end of this knob of albite matrix, for a blue-on-white contrast. This is a classic form of tourmaline for the locality, although rare in this color and, certainly, on matrix. The crystals are 2 to almost 4 cm in height, and all are terminated well, though some are messy or have small breaks off to the side as I would display it. It is dark, but the crystals are colorful when backlit (see photos - this is in strong backlighting, compared to the modest lighting in video). A classic combination piece, from this rich gem pegmatite region. It comes with a custom, engraved lucite base for display. Sean Lincoln Collection.
