Item Description
Indicolite and hydroxylherderite combination specimens of this superlative quality are very rare from the renowned pegmatites at Virgem da Lapa. Gorgeous, gem to translucent, rich teal-blue indicolites are incredibly set on all sides of the lustrous, translucent, tan hydroxylherderite crystal with striking, sharp multiple terminations. Part of the herderite is actually doubly terminated! The fabulous, gem, spearpoint indicolite at the termination is 2.8 cm. Those are tiny gem cleavelandite blades embedded on the back of the piece and you can see impressions where more indicolites once lay. The hydroxylherderite is essentially pristine and the scattered broken indicolites have trivial impact on the stunning visual 360-degree quality of this outrageous beauty. Older material from the late 1960s, from the Violet Dawson collection. Valued at $1500-1750 and well worth it. Try to find another!
