Item Description

This is arguably the finest specimen of this rare borate species that we've had to offer in the auctions. Inderborite which has only been found in four places in the world, and the best known examples are those from the type locality in Kazakhstan, which is where this piece is from. It is not only good sized for the material, it's SUPERBLY well-crystallized, with LARGE individual crystals. The few examples I've seen of this mineral over the years were broken or massive chunks with no crystal form, but THIS piece is amazingly attractive as it hosts well-defined, isolated euhedral crystals measuring up to 1.8 cm on very minor matrix. The crystals are oriented into "rosette"-like formations, and the vast majority of them are damage free. SUPERB for the species, and nearly impossible to obtain on the market. This is a world-class rarity, and priced in our inventory at $5,000 for its remarkable quality.
