Item Description
A 5.2 cm, textbook hexagonal, sharp, terminated Willemite variety Troostite (Mn-rich) is dramatically set on one face of the impressive large sculptural blocky calcite matrix, that hosts more willemite sections. The moderately lustrous crystal has fine salmon color and a pristine, contacted termination. This is an exceptional and important large combination with a large sharp willemite from the famous Sterling Mine. Neon-green and neon-orange fluorescence, as you would expect! Ex David Burgess Collection, for whom Burgessite is named. Valued at $2500 a number of years ago on HIS card label recording wha the paid for it (probably in the 1980s or 1990s). It is certainly worth more today. THis is a major, significant USA specimen
