Item Description

Intergrown, fan sprays of malachite form an amazingly aesthetic specimen from recent finds at the Kaokoveld of Namibia. This is a solid, two-sided specimen of malachite. As is, Highly uncommon...but it is even more interesting: this is primary malachite, not malachite replacing azurite, which is more common all over the world. Primary malachite crystals growing on their own to this size is almost unheard of and the piece is a MAJOR locality specimen, as well as a fairly significant malachite thus. The pictures say it all. The acicular crystals have a nice chatoyancy as a bonus, when you move it around in light. Just incredible. Valued $1500. Ex Sussman Collection
