Item Description

An impressive large and sculptural 360-degree, trident-shaped cluster of stibiconite pseudomorphs, where the stibiconite has fully replaced the original, well-striated stibnite crystals. The hollow interiors dramatically enhance the pristine rough pseudomorphed terminations. Stibiconite after stibnite specimens from the historic old silver mines at Catorce are a classic Mexican species. The largest pseudo is 24.0 cm long, large for the species and locale. These are not the most beautiful of mineral specimens, but this one deserves respect for the size, aesthetics and quality. Ex Chet Lemanski Collection and acquired from Herb Obodda in 1999. A significant large example of the species and locale. This is old material pre-1980s and almost never seen for sale in such sizes today. This has to be one of the biggest survivors and dwarfs any others we have seen for sale over the years. Valued $6000-7500.
