Item Description

Dramatically biomorphic-looking large two-sided crystallized copper from the historic Copper Country of Michigan. This striking piece resembles a fish with a very long nose, large dorsal fin, and broad tail. The "fin" is comprised of a multitude of elongated spinel-twinned looking crystals, with the base of the "fish" comprised of much larger crystals. The impressive complex basal crystal is 4.5 cm long and all of the crystals have a beautiful rich patina. The richly embedded contrasting malachite with a bit of quartz on both sides adds a very colorful aspect to this very sculptural specimen. Pristine, the attachment is at the tail.
