important fine Scheelite (fluorescent) on Muscovite

An outstanding and very aesthetic scheelite and muscovite combination from this famed Chinese locale. A striking, lustrous and translucent, 4.7 x 4.3 x 3.9 cm, rich burnt-orange with beautiful golden-yellow gemmy areas, SHARP crystal is dramatically set on the pearlescent muscovite plate matrix accented with two smaller scheelites. For overall aesthetics, this is definitely a superior and first-class combination. The expert repair and restoration (right in the middle of the crystals) are barely noticeable - sogood that it escaped my eye when I bought it in China, in fact, for quite a large sum. The repair join to the muscovite matrix under the large scheelite is totally out-of-sight and the restoration on the diagonal on the lower half of the large scheelite is very well done with excellent color, luster and translucency matching (it is a UV-fixed epoxy material used commonly in such restoration). The large crystal really lights up, when front and back lit! Bright ghostly white scheelite fluorescence. Quality like this is simply not coming out any more....the "flood" of world class scheelite is pretty much over. If not repaired, this would be a $7,500 mineral specimen on the open market, on display at any major show. And, despite repair and restoration, it still looks like one but now at a bargain price, despite the impressive and excellent large crystal and beautiful and sculptural artistic presentation.
