Item Description
Cuprite variety Chalcotrichite is RARE from fabled Tsumeb and this an outstanding combination specimen from the Shields Flynn Collection. Mats of tiny bright red gemmy needles are richly connected and scattered on the vuggy matrix. The impressive elongated and sculptural mat on the right side is 4.0 cm tall. The hefty ore matrix, at 533 grams mass, is composed of botryoidal and massive smithsonite. Very choice and rare combination material valued by the former dealer at $1700 Euros ($1921 US). While copper is common as ore at Tsumeb, these kinds of copper minerals for colelctors are extremely uncommon. This is one of the more rich examples of this species, and a large display specimen as well. Valued $1500-2000
