Lustrous and translucent-to-gemmy, this flattened and barbed set of Anglesite "spearpoints" is from the Tsumeb Mine and is a MAJOR example from a very special and famous one-time find here. Charlie Key brought these all out in the 1970s, and said the pocket was maybe the size of a basketball. Large, freestanding crystals are so few, so rare, and almost never come up for sale these days. This is a significant example from that one time find, unique in all the world for the color of the species. The stacked and parallel crystals are geometric and colorful. Many of the edges are modified, so the barbed shape has even more of an interesting and appealing look with these extra reflections. The luster on the 'front' is superior, and this excellent, two-sided piece has a bonus of green Mottramite accents along the edges. We cannot imagine another example of this turning up for sale, until one of the few other remaining Tsumeb stashes comes to market; and even then there are not many. Valued $5000-plus. Hefty, at 370 grams - this is not small. It is dramatic on a shelf, in a box, or in the hand.
