Imperial Topaz (rare pink color)

It is well known that the finest examples of Imperial Topaz come from Ouro Preto, Brazil, and while most people associate this variety with a strong orange hue, there are actually a few additional (and much rarer) shades for the material that are found at this locality. This thumbnail is a beautiful single prism with sharp, lustrous, well-formed faces, and good internal gemminess, but the best aspect is that it features a gorgeous strong pink hue, rarely seen in these crystals, or Topaz in general. The color is even more vivid when you view the crystal down the "c" axis. No major damage, just a few minor nicks, but it packs a lot of color for the size, and would make a nice addition to any thumbnail suite or a collection of gem crystals.
