Item Description
A great old time set of 13 crystals of classic Brazilian Imperial Topaz that dates back to around the late 1960s. All of the crystals are single, sharp, well-formed, lustrous, gemmy, soft golden-orange color prisms, but keep in mind that some are better quality than others. I assume the locality is Ouro Preto, though the label just says "Brazil". A cool glimpse into the kind of crystals that were coming out of Brazil around 50 years ago. This dry comes from the collection of Willard W. Wulff (1904-1998) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a prominent figure and collector of Colorado minerals. Wulff was one of the founding members of the Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society in 1936. You can read Willard's bio on the Mineralogical Record website here ( http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1528 ). The piece comes with a typed label from Wulff that says it came from the Hart Collection.
