Item Description
A fine, gemmy, lustrous, sharp, translucent, prismatic old time crystal of rich orange Imperial Topaz with a typical steep termination. The fantastic, rare, natural orange color is mixed with a bit of brownish clay inclusions for a nice two-tone appearance. A few TINY nicks keeps the crystals from being 100% perfect, but it's still a great miniature specimen from this world famous locality. Ouro Preto has produced some of the most incredible color crystals of Topaz ever found. The piece weighs 11.09 grams. This piece was mined in 1973. From the collection of world famous mineral dealer Richard A. Kosnar (the namesake for the phosphate Kosnarite), who had a strong presence in Brazil in the 1970s and imported many gem crystals during that period. Priced at $1,000 in the inventory.
