Imperial Jasper (gemmy!)

Imperial Jasper is the name given to the banded red green and orange Jasper from Mexico. The material is beautiful when it is polished. This "Freeform Cabochon" cut gem has a lovely mix of moss / sage green, cream and bronze-rose color banding creating a pattern resembling a slice of petrified wood. The piece is actually GEMMY when backlit, which is certainly rare in my experience with this material! I have not seen many of these stones on the market over the years, but collectors know that this is some of the nicest banded Jasper from North America.
