Item Description
A seldom-seen fossil of Ilymatogyra (an ancient species of oyster) from near the town of Del Rio in southwestern Texas. Apparently these fossils have also been found in the UK, where they earned the nickname "Devils toe nails". This piece hosts several well-preserved fossils measuring up to 1.3 cm, sitting on matrix. The piece dates back to the Upper Cretaceous.
