Ilvaite with Quartz

Item Description

Ilvaite is an uncommon calcium iron silicate, which has only been found in exemplary specimens from a handful of world localities. Some of the finest pieces ever seen are those from various localities at Dalnegorsk. The exceptional size, quality and crystallization certainly puts them in the top tier for the species. This miniature specimen features a group of sharp, well-formed, jet-black prismatic crystals with classic "chisel"-shaped terminations, which are associate / partially coated by small sparkling Quartz crystals for a great contrast. No major damage I can find, and the piece is crystallized all around. A showy and eye-catching example of this classic material.
