Item Description
A rare and fine classic USA thumbnail: intergrown, sharp and sharply terminated, lustrous, jet-black, ilvaite crystals from a classic locality, the Laxey Mine in Idaho. The complete all-around ilvaites are nicely accented with a bit of quartz matrix. Nearly pristine, with only gentle brusing to the terminations. Very seldom on the market in this quality. Looks like a fine crystal from Dal"negorsk, but its not! Ex Smithsonian Museum. The numbers match.
