This old ilvaite specimen is a classic of late 1990s finds in Russia at the famous Dalnegorsk location, and it features superb, sharp, lustrous crystals of ilvaite to 3 cm, in a sparkling cluster with quartz. They were some of the finest ilvaite the world had seen, gram per gram - and still are. At the time, they went for a huge premium for this relatively rare species because of the superb luster not known from other localities. Herb Obodda had this in his dealer stock, and it comes with a 20 year old label, and a $900 price tag on it. It is complete all around, sparkling and lustrous, and quite a fine cluster for the size range.
