Ilmenite with Albite

Item Description

Exceptional specimen of intergrown, platy Ilmenite crystals. The metallic luster is very good, as is the definition of some of the edges. Certainly, the largest crystal is at least half the specimen, and some of the other major crystals have excellent, intriguing growth patterns. There are a few small Albites, and the average thickness of the crystals is about .4 cm. Listed as being from the Rondu District (thus making this an ultra rare specimen), there are many similarities to some of the Ilmenites from Zagi Mt. Overall, a terrific specimen for the species. valued $1000-1500
