Ilmenite w/ Chlorite (Cook Coll.)

Chlorite-included, parallel-growth, tabular hexagonal ilmenite crystals form a sculptural and wonderful small cabinet from the Alpine-type deposits at Tormiq. The chlorite has a striking shimmering lustre under light, that the camera could not capture. The attachment on the back reveals the splendent metallic luster of the black ilmenite crystals. Ex Cook Collection. We feel very lucky to have picked up the large collection of Bill and Anne Cook of Cleveland, recently. It is a tribute to their long efforts, how many interesting minerals and old localities were preserved and carefully labelled so you can see them now. Bill and Anne collected for at least 60 years. A very fine and showy combination example of the species and well-known locale.
