Item Description

Mineral specimens are RARE from this less well-known area of the Urals. Ilmenite is EXTREMELY RARE, as MINDAT does not list the species for the locale. This is a hefty, OLD-TIME specimen of nearly solid gray-black ilmenite, with only a bit feldspar on one side. Two sharp euhedral crystal edges on one end highlight the lustrous on one side and matte on the other mostly subhedral specimen. There is an old faded 1.3 cm label in English on the matte side. Very rare, perhaps unique old Miass ilmenite from the David Burgess collection. 224 grams mass.
