Ilmenite on Albite

Item Description

An attractive and good quality "Alpine type" specimen featuring lustrous, metallic, silvery, platy crystallized "rosettes" of Ilmenite associated with white Albite on matrix. The largest Ilmenite "rosette" measures 1.9 cm across. It is certainly a decent quality Ilmenite, not only from Pakistan, but any worldwide locality. Good crystallized Ilmenite is not terribly common on the market, and this piece is comparable to pieces I have seen from the Swiss Alps. A cool, hand-sized Pakistani specimen resembling those from Alpine "clefts".
