Item Description

Ilmenite is a well-known species from the Bentley Lake locality, and some of the best non-micro crystals of this iron titanium oxide have been found there. This piece is a good quality miniature featuring a fairly good-sized, impressive, well-formed, robust trigonal crystal that is complete all around. Minor associated Quartz and Mica are present on the piece as well for a nice touch. No major damage to the Ilmenite that I can find. You don't see many crystals of the species this size from any locality, especially in such good shape, and the pieces from Faraday are among the largest examples that are also attractive euhedral crystals to boot.
