IKONS - Special Cover Edition Leather Author's Copy with alternate cover

Item Description

This is a very limited edition special leatherbound book with an alternate cover to the huge IKONS book we were so honored to help produce in 2024, published by the Mineralogical Record and released in Tucson of 2024 (February). They have now sold over 1200 copies! As authors, we were given the option by the printer to print for ourselves a very limited number of specially-printed leatherbound editions with alternate specimen selections on the cover, each limited to only 4 books. This is one of only 4 existing books featuring the beautiful Great Aquamarine Spray on the cover. Now prominently on display in the MIM Museum in Beirut, this is one of the most famous minerals in existence; and it made for a beautiful cover candidate. The published edition of IKONS and the 200 regular leatherbound editions all have the famous San Francisco Wulfenite specimen collected by Wayne Thompson on the covers (Each regular leatherbound issue sells for $950, by the MR). This is a much more rare collectors item, and one of the few copies which we as authors printed to keep among ourselves as a memento of the 3 years and more of work we did to produce this book. All others are privately held.
