Item Description
An old-time vesuvianite specimen from the famed Type Locality. Lustrous, sharp, brownish-black crystal sections, to 1.6 cm, have nifty areas of olive-green translucence. Not pretty to look at, but this is highly represenative old-timer from the Sorbonne Museum and the George Elling Collection, probably dating to the late 1800s or early 1900s.
