Item Description

Hydrozincite forms in the oxidation zones of zinc deposits as masses or crusts. This is a large and very rich specimen from Mina Ojuela that is actually quite attractive, with a rich coating of little snowy balls of the mineral coating shallow recesses in a sturdy, contrasting CABINET matrix of limonite. Specimens of this quality and richness date from about 1960 to 1970. Ex Consie Prince Collection. Super white fluorescence!
