Item Description

A really cool and incredibly hard to find small cabinet display specimen from the lesser known Milford Mine in Nevada featuring scalenohedral crystals of Calcite measuring up to 2.1 cm, which are coated by white sparkling micro Hydrozincite, sitting on matrix. Overall, the piece is in great shape, and the only real damage is around the periphery where the piece was removed from the pocket wall. If you collect minerals of Nevada, I'll bet you don't have one of these in your collection. From the collection of Robert (Bob) Reynolds who passed in August of 2020. Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
