Item Description

These beautiful famous green Hydroxylherderite specimens came out in the late 1990s - early 2000s, and are quite difficult to obtain these days. Nothing has been found in years, and there are many collectors who have said that these crystals are their favorite color of Herderite from any locality in the world. It should be noted that green is an exceptionally rare color for Herderite, and to find specimens with such excellent quality crystals of this size just pushes the desirability factor up another notch. This attractive miniature specimen is a wonderful, sharp, lustrous, translucent, beautiful green colored, euhedral crystal of Hydroxylherderite free of matrix. Not only is the crystal doubly-terminated, but the reverse side of the piece is re-crystallized ("re-healed") where it detached from the pocket wall, so it's essentially a complete "floater"! I love how defined and well-formed, the smooth broad faces are on every side, but it has a few geometric stepped faces here and there to create a gorgeous three-dimensional form.. For a gem crystal species, this is a great example, and due to its form, you can display it from several angles and get a complete different viewing experience. Priced at $4,000 in our inventory.
