Item Description

A classic old-time specimen of superbly crystallized, very sharp, rather lustrous, blocky, well-formed monoclinic soft greenish-yellow crystals of Hydroxylherderite associated with Albite from the famous Golconda pegmatite in Brazil. This piece comes to us from an old East Coast collection with a label from noted New York mineral dealer, Larry Conklin. The piece was originally priced at $1250 years ago. Very minor damage, but still quite showy. Even though the Herderite crystals are opaque, they are incredibly sharp and lustrous, and definitely better than most crystals of the species that I've seen from any locality.
