Item Description
A classic specimen for this famous old gem district. I think most people would agree that the most desirable color for Herderite (more properly Hydroxylherderite) is purple. This piece features mutiple, sharp, well-formed, euhedral monoclinic prisms of purple Hydroxylherderite crystals with minor Microcline sitting on a large group of layered, greenish-silver Muscovite. The largest Herderite measures 1.1 cm. Very little damage, but it's notable as it is very difficult to find cabinet display piece of Herderite with many crystals on matrix like this. A cool gem crystal specimen of a species that is not often found in well-formed examples with a rare color. Priced at $1500.
