Item Description
A great thumbnail from this famous old gem district. I think most people would agree that the most desirable color for Herderite (more properly Hydroxylherderite) is purple. This piece features a sharp, well-formed, euhedral monoclinic prism of soft purple Hydroxylherderite on pink Microcline matrix. The crystal measures 1.6 cm. A good gem crystal specimen of a species that is not often found in well-formed examples with a rare color on matrix. Valued at $495 from the previous dealer's label.
