Item Description

A new find for this famous old gem district. I think most people would agree that the most desirable color for Herderite (more properly Hydroxylherderite) is purple. This piece features a pair of fairly sharp, well-formed, euhedral monoclinic prisms of soft purple Hydroxylherderite crystals with minor greenish-yellow Muscovite. The piece is a "floater" as both of the Herderites are completely crystallized and doubly-terminated. A cool gem crystal specimen of a species that is not often found in well-formed examples with a rare color.
