Hydroxyapophyllite-K (rare)

Item Description

An impresssive, large, 3.6 x 3.6 cm on edge, hydroxyapophyllite crystal dominates this aesthetic intergrown cluster of glassy, translucent crystals from this famous mine. This is a very large and exceptional crystal for the species and locale. Nearly pristine, the large crystal has only trivial rubbing. The piece looks great from either direction. These are much more rare than the more common fluorapophyllite crystals from India and elsewhere, and crystals like this were only found a few times in the Kalahari, mostly decades ago.
