Item Description
Hydromagnesite is a relatively uncommon carbonate found in low-temperature, hydrothermal environments in serpentine and altered magnesium-rich igneous rocks. This rich and showy plate is covered with radial clusters of glassy, colorless, acicular crystals and is from the famous Crestmore quarries of California. This is a rare species from this noted locale and was personally collected by Al Ordway in 1972.
