Hydromagnesite is a relatively uncommon carbonate found in low-temperature, hydrothermal environments in serpentine and altered magnesium-rich igneous rocks. This very showy, bubbly, botryoidal, mounded specimen of pretty, light lime-green hydromagnesite is from the well-known Cedar Hill Quarry of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania and is a gravel quarry mining the State-line belt of serpentines and is near the famous Woods Chrome Mine.
