Item Description

Hydrohonessite is a very rare sulfate mineral, and this locality is not far from the Type Locality. Hydrohonessite, the hydrated form of Honessite, expresses itself as a yellow dusting, and perhaps infusion, of the matrix. What makes this specimen great is the solid 7 mm vein of Hydrohonessite that runs completely through this small cabinet piece. By reputation, the 132 North Mine, also known as the Mount Edwards Mine, has produced the finest Hyrohonessite know. You can see why. Last purchased for $225 in the mid 1990s.
