Item Description
Hutchinsonite is one of the few crystallized THALLIUM-containing minerals that have macro-crystals. Collected in the late 1970s and early 1980s, these Peruvian finds are considered to be the world's finest examples of this very rare species. The lustrous, metallic-grey lathes and sprays of Hutchinsonite are distributed across the matrix, and in turn they are decorated by many wonderful, flower-like clusters of burnt-orange Orpiment. Either species stands on its own as a reason to own this small cabinet, but together they make for a great, aesthetic pairing. A classic specimen , beautiful as well as intellectually interesting.
