Item Description

An impressive cabinet sized specimen of this rare phosphate material featuring Hureaulite with Rockbridgeite. Hureaulite was named in 1825 after the type locality, a village in France named Hureaux. The best crystals of this beautiful manganese phosphate are most notably found at the Jocão Claim in Brazil. The glowing saturated orange-pink color, large (most other Hureaulites are micro crystals from various localities around the world) crystals are the standard for the species at this locality. This specimen hosts a rich amount of lustrous, translucent, vibrant orange-pink colored monoclinic crystals of Hureaulite associated with very dark blue (nearly black) colored Rockbridgeite and a bit of reddish-brown Reddingite on Quartz. The largest Hureaulite crystal measures 7 mm long, Only minor damage that I can find. A very attractive, three-dimensional, big and high quality specimen of this hard to find material, from the best location for the in terms of the size, quality and color of the crystals.
