Item Description

Gemmy, lustrous, rose-pink prismatic Hureaulite crystals, to 1.3 cm, are aesthetically clustered jackstraw-style atop the sawed miniature matrix. Mineral specimens from this less well-known phosphate-rich pegmatite are RARE and are seldom on the market, as the small find occurred in 1977-78 (Mineralogical Record, Vol. 10, No. 3, May-June, 1979). Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 8882 and acquired from Al McGuinness at the 1980 Tucson Show. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien-Welt" November-December 2017). These are some of the finest hureaulites extent. Rare, rich and excellent Hureaulite in this quality from this locale.
